Oregon has always been a special place to me. I grew up working alongside my dad at Jay’s Drive-In, and in 2018 I opened The Hunt Club here.
When the opportunity for Taft’s Tavern came along, the building felt like the right fit. I knew it well—it was home to the original Hunt Club—and I liked the idea of bringing something new to the east side of the bridge.
With Taft’s, I wanted to do something a little outside the box and create something Oregon didn’t already have: a laid-back neighborhood tavern centered around wood-fired pizza, cold drinks, sports, and a great atmosphere.
For me, Taft’s is another chapter in a town I’ve been connected to since I was a kid.
